Avoid Greed, Stay United for Success - Kofi Boakye tells NDC Supporters

Kumasi, Ghana - January 01, 2025 -  A prominent member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has cautioned the party against allowing greed to divide its ranks as it prepares to assume power.

Nathan Kofi Boakye, a retired Commissioner of Police and key figure in the NDC's security team, emphasized the importance of unity among party supporters during the Ashanti regional zone two campaign team’s victory party in Kumasi over the weekend,

Boakye's comments come as the NDC prepares to form the next government following its victory in the 2024 election. The party is set to take office on January 7, 2025.

In his remarks, Boakye urged potential appointees to prioritize the interests of all party members, rather than using their positions to intimidate others.

The retired police commissioner also praised party members for their hard work during the campaign season, acknowledging their role in securing the NDC's election victory.

As the NDC prepares for its transition into power, Boakye's call for unity is seen as a crucial reminder of the party's need to present a united front in order to effectively deliver on its campaign promises.

I would like to take this opportunity to commend you all for your efforts'', he stated.

“If we care for one another, we will enter the 2028 elections with stronger strategies and renewed energy. We must avoid being divided by greed.”

“Yes, we have won the election to form the next government after January 7, 2025. However, not everyone here will receive an appointment. Those who do must not use their positions to intimidate others. You must demonstrate leadership and care for your fellow party members.”

“At the moment, we walk with our heads held high because we have defeated the NPP in the 2024 election – a victory we are all sharing due to our hard work. Let’s use the same energy to support our elected president and appointees in bringing about positive change, which will ensure even greater rewards from Ghanaians in the 2028 elections,'' he added.
