Aluta Continua, We will Not be Cowered - Minority

Accra, Ghana - 03 Feb, 2025 - Ghana's Minority Caucus in Parliament has vowed to continue its work despite alleged attempts by the ruling party to intimidate its members.
In a show of defiance, Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin told a press conference on Monday, Feb 3, 2025, that the caucus would not be cowed by attempts to silence it. He insisted that the Minority's actions were guided by the national interest, and that it would continue to hold the government to account.
The Minority Caucus has been at odds with the ruling party over various issues, and tensions have been rising in recent weeks. But Mr. Afenyo-Markin made it clear that the caucus would not back down.
“Indeed, we are going through difficult moments, but we will never be intimidated. Aluta continua, victoria acerta. We will not allow ourselves to be cowered. The mighty few and the happy few, we are going to stand our ground and ensure that the right thing is done all in the national interest,'' he stated.
“We are not going to fight anybody, we are not going to disrupt and obstruct government business. So far, we have been the most corporative in the chamber and the NDC should applaud us for supporting them,” he added.
