Accra, Ghana - Nov 12, 2024 - The 8th edition of the Africa Makeup and Beauty (AMB) Fair came to a close in Accra with a glamorous awards night, honoring outstanding individuals in the beauty and wellness industry.

The three-day event, themed "Sustainable Synergy for Eco-Empowerment in a Changing Climate," brought together over 50 vendors, showcasing eco-friendly products and attracting a large crowd of beauty enthusiasts.

Industry Leaders Emphasize Sustainability and Unity

Rebecca Donkor, CEO of Makeup Ghana, stressed the importance of eco-friendly products and collective responsibility in preserving the environment. She highlighted the AMB Fair's role in connecting African beauty brands with global opportunities and promoting sustainable beauty.

“The idea of synergy of working together harmoniously, is central to this effort. Through fruitful collaboration, we can harness our strengths and create lasting solutions that benefit both our businesses and the planet,” she stated.

“The collaboration we see today has not only fueled innovation but has also positioned African brands on the global stage as leaders of sustainable beauty.''

“It is in a peaceful environment that businesses can thrive, talents can blossom and creativity can flourish,” she added..

Meanwhile, Nana Adwoa Asiaa Benneh, Queenmother of Akyem Abuakwa, also commended the organizers and urged attendees to commit to environmental preservation.

She encouraged youth to explore entrepreneurship opportunities within the beauty and wellness space.

“This is more than a celebration of beauty but an avenue for industry growth and cultural empowerment,” she stated.

Looking Ahead

Makeup Ghana announced plans to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of the AMB Fair in two years, with a global focus. The event aims to continue fostering innovation, unity, and sustainable practices within the industry.
