Ablakwa Meets Singapore Envoy, Agrees to Maintain Visa Waiver Agreement Between Both Countries

Accra, Ghana - 15 April, 2025 - Ghana's Foreign Affairs Minister, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has met with Singapore's High Commissioner to Ghana, Hawazi Daipi, to discuss strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
The meeting resulted in an agreement to deepen cooperation in key areas, including trade, skills education, and information technology.
The Minister expressed satisfaction that Ghana and Singapore will maintain their Visa Waiver Agreement, a move expected to further facilitate travel and trade between the nations. Additionally, Singapore has pledged to offer scholarship opportunities to Ghanaian students pursuing technical education.
During the meeting, Minister Ablakwa thanked High Commissioner Daipi for the invitation extended by Singapore's President, Tharman Shanmugaratnam, to President John Mahama to pay a state visit to Singapore.
This invitation underscores the growing diplomatic ties between Ghana and Singapore.
