WNBA Finals: Liberty's first title or Lynx's return to top?

The New York Liberty have reached the WNBA Finals again and now face the Minnesota Lynx after their 88-77 win over the Connecticut Sun.

Seeking to win its first WNBA championship, New York advanced to the finals for the second year in a row after defeating the Las Vegas Aces 76-62 on Sunday to win the semifinal series 3-1. Sabrina Ionescu led the way for the Liberty and is averaging 20.7 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game this postseason. New York has made it to six WNBA Finals – including last season when the Liberty fell to the Aces – but have yet to win a title.

In the other WNBA semifinal matchup, the Lynx and Sun faced off in Game 5 with the series tied 2-2. The Sun won Game 1, while the Lynx claimed Game 2 and 3 to take a 2-1 series lead. But, the Sun battled back on Sunday to win Game 4, 92-82, to extend the series. The standout player of this series is the MVP runner-up; Minnesota's Napheesa Collier has been outstanding in the postseason, averaging 27.2 points and 9.3 rebounds over six games. With Tuesday's win, the Lynx look for their fifth WNBA title.
