Paris Olympics: Disappointment for Mkheidze as French gold wait goes on
France's first gold medal of their home Olympics has not come in the men's under-60kg judo.
Luka Mkheidze has been beaten by Yeldos Smetov of Kazakhstan.
Smetov picked up two early penalties for non-combativity, but threw Mkheidze for a waza-iri which was enough to secure gold.
Mkheidze takes silver for France, after compatriot Shirine Boukli picked up a bronze in the women's under-48kg earlier.
