Paris Olympics 2024 : Ghana's Harry Stacey finishes seventh in Heat
Ghana's Harry Stacey has expressed disappointment in his failure to qualify for the semi finals of the 100 metre men's freestyle swimming event at the ongoing Olympic Games in Paris.
Stacey finished seventh in Heat 4 of the 100 Metres Men Freestyle event in 51.12 seconds, missing out on qualifying for the semifinals.
He also failed to improve his national record mark of 50.57 seconds over the distance.
Speaking after the heat, Stacey admitted that his performance at his inaugural Olympics was not his finest, but he saw the benefits of competing at the top level.
“I’m not too mad at the performance, but it wasn’t my best showing. It’s been a learning experience and definitely building blocks for the future. I am hoping to come back for the next Olympics. I’ve learnt a lot already.”
Ghanaian Swimmer, Joselle Mensah
Ghanaians are now banking their hopes on Joselle Mensah who is scheduled to compete in the Women's 50 Metres Freestyle swimming event on August 2.
