One Teacher, One Laptop Programme reaches 300,000 beneficiaries

Accra, Ghana - KA Technologies has successfully completed the distribution of laptop computers to 300,000 teachers under the government's One Teacher, One Laptop programme, a major milestone in the effort to digitalize teaching and enhance research in Ghana's education sector.

The initiative, implemented in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES), has equipped teachers across the country with modern digital tools, paving the way for improved teaching methods and increased access to information.

In addition to the laptop distribution, KA Technologies has established a network of 24/7 Aftercare Centers, providing teachers with ongoing technical support and ensuring the long-term sustainability of the programme.

A statement issued by the company over the weekend said, “We are pleased to announce the successful completion of the nationwide supply, training and subsequent distribution of Computer Laptops to qualified teachers (Kindergarten, Primary, Junior and Senior High Schools), teachers on-study leave and non-teaching Staff under the Ghana Education Service (GES)”.

“Our user-friendly Katcare App allows the booking of repair services and the purchase of Laptop accessories. Teachers may also call toll-free line 0800790555 to report any complaints or enquiries”, the statement added.

The company expressed gratitude to the teacher unions; the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) and the Coalition of Concerned Teachers (CCT), stakeholders, the government, the Ministry of Education, the Ghana Education Service and the regulatory institutions for working to ensure a successful execution.
