Golden State Warriors set to lose Klay Thompson.
The Golden State Warriors are ready to lose four-time NBA champion Klay Thompson to free agency.
Thompson will enter the unrestricted free agent market on Sunday (June 30) but he has had little communication with Warriors since the bargaining period for current free agents began over two weeks ago, and no offer has been made, according to club and league sources. Following other business, the Warriors intended to return to Thompson and bargain but he isn't anticipated to be there waiting as a willing secondary priority in their summer plans, with his team believing that the Warriors' desire in a reunion is phony.
Warriors could lose Klay Thompson to the Dallas Mavericks, which would be a nightmare for the club as Thompson would immediately improve Dallas' squad and help them build on a club that advanced to the NBA Finals last season.
The five-time All-Star guard is determined to find a new home in the NBA for his 14th season and beyond, with both sides believing their 13-year partnership is done, according to league sources.
