Once you take public office you must be prepared to be held accountable - Mahama
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Mahama, has told Ghanaians that his government is ready for public scrutiny and believes that public officials who are called to serve the nation should be prepared to answer questions when they are called upon.
He therefore warned that any public official who abuses their position, should expect to be held accountable.
“If people what to come into government and make money then we can help you, go into the private centre, we will help you set up a cassava processing plant go and process cassava employ young people , don’t and come and take public office.
“Once you take public office you must be prepared to be held to account,” he said.
He made these pronouncements during the National Democatic Congress's (NDC) Youth Townhall Meeting in Accra on August 12, 2024.
