Migration is not a bad thing but it must be organized - Mahama
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama is advocating for a more efficient method of exporting local talent overseas.
According to him, the current way that professionals depart the country owing to economic constraints leaves much to be desired.
He made these comments at the party's town hall gathering in Accra on August 12, 2024
While recognizing the significance of migration, he expressed a desire for a better organized process that assures a more effective exchange of value.
He believes that the government should work with other countries that require surplus labor on a temporary basis.
The former President believes that taking this approach will ensure that Ghanaians who participate in such programs return with enhanced skills and experience.
"Migration of professionals is not inherently a bad thing, it must happen in an organised manner," he said on Monday.
