GoldBoard Technical Committee Submits Proposal to Lands Minister
Accra, Ghana - 11 Feb, 2025 - In a significant step towards reforming Ghana's gold industry, the GoldBoard Technical Committee, led by Mr. Sammy Gyamfi Esq., Acting Managing Director of the Precious Minerals Marketing Company (PMMC), presented a comprehensive policy concept to the Lands Minister, Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, on Monday.
The committee emphasized its readiness to collaborate with stakeholders to establish the GoldBoard, a specialized agency responsible for managing and marketing gold resources from the small-scale mining sector. This move is expected to advance natural resource management, regulate the gold industry, stabilize the cedi, and maximize revenue from gold exports.
