Fire breaks out at Honeysuckle pub in Labone
A fire erupted at the Honeysuckle Pub and Restaurant in Labone, Accra, on Saturday, October 26, at approximately 5 p.m. The blaze, confined to the kitchen, was quickly brought under control by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), preventing extensive damage and injuries.
Thanks to the prompt response of GNFS firefighters from Headquarters and Trade Fair Fire Stations, the situation was swiftly contained, saving valuable property and preventing the fire from spreading to other sections of the pub.
Officials from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) also played a crucial role in ensuring responder safety by disconnecting power to the area.
Assistant Division Officer Alex King Nartey praised the coordinated effort between GNFS and ECG, stating on the GFNS facebook page that “Fire involved the kitchen of the pub and its contents. Despite some partial damage to the kitchen and its contents, no injury was recorded. The adept firefighters swiftly and successfully prevented the fierce fire from spreading to the sitting area of the pub, thereby saving a lot of valuables from the flames''.
The fire was fully extinguished by 6:15 p.m.
