Accra, Ghana - September 10, 2024 - The Ministry of Information has commenced the third cohort of its flagship Media Capacity Enhancement Programme (MCEP) at the University of Media Arts and Communications (UNIMAC), with 100 journalists enrolled.

The four-day training programme, scheduled from September 10th to 13th, 2024, aims to equip journalists with the necessary skills and knowledge to critically perform their watchdog role.

This year's cohort will undergo 10 specialized modules addressing critical issues such as fact-checking, understanding electoral processes, and navigating the digital landscape.

Minister for Information, Honourable Fatimatu Abubakar, emphasized the importance of a well-informed and capable media in Ghana's democratic process, stressing its integral role in nation-building.

The MCEP is designed to address media capacity challenges and enhance the role of the media as the fourth estate in Ghana's governance system.
