Normal Power Generation Resumes at Tema Thermal Plants - ECG

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) and the Ghana Grid Company Ltd. (GRIDCo) have announced that thermal power plants in Tema have resumed operations.

The plants, which are a crucial part of Ghana's power generation infrastructure, had been shut down temporarily.

The ECG confirmed in a statement released on Friday Dec 13, that power generation has been restored at the plants, which are expected to operate at full capacity. 

"The Ghana Grid Company Ltd.(GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana wish to inform the general public that Gas supply from the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCO) to thermal power plants in tema has resumed.

"All power plants which shutdown have been restored into operation. Power Supply to all affected Customers have also been restored.

"With the return to normalcy, GRIDco and ECG wish to assure that we will continue our collaborative efforts to ensure continued reliable supply," portions of the statement read.
