VRA meets Interior Ministry and Security agencies over Akosombo dam Spillage
The Volta River Authority (VRA) led by Ing. Ken Arthur, Deputy Chief Executive in Charge of Services have met with Ghana's Minister of Interior Henry Quartey and members of some security agencies to discuss emergency plans over the annual spillage of the Akosombo dam.
This conference comes as the Volta River Authority begins its sensitization campaign in downstream towns south of the Akosombo Dam, which was impacted by the dam leak last year.
So far, the VRA has held sensitization workshops with traditional authorities, religious leaders, and opinion leaders in the North and South Tongu districts.
