Information Minister calls for accurate reporting ahead of December polls
Somanya, Ghana - The Minister for Information, Honourable Fatimatu Abubakar, has emphasized the importance of responsible journalism in the lead-up to the general elections, calling on journalists to maintain high standards of professionalism in their reporting.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of a 2-day Capacity Building Workshop on election reporting organized by the Private Newspapers and Online News Publishers Association of Ghana (PRINPAG) in Somanya, the Minister stressed the need for accuracy and ethical reporting.
She noted that responsible journalism can play a crucial role in reducing the spread of misinformation and disinformation during this critical time, and encouraged participants to take full advantage of the training to enhance their skills and ensure credible and ethical election coverage.
The Minister applauded the PRINPAG executives for organizing the timely workshop, which aims to equip journalists with the necessary skills to effectively cover the elections.
The workshop is part of efforts to promote high-quality journalism and ensure that the public receives accurate and reliable information during the election period.
