UGMC successfully completes Kidney transplant surgeries.
The University of Ghana Medical Centre Limited (UGMC) has announced the successful completion of its first six kidney transplant surgeries.
According to a statement made on Sunday night [June 30, 2024], the surgeries were carried out by a highly skilled and dedicated local and foreign medical staff. "The UGMC has so far conducted six kidney transplant surgeries with utmost precision, care, and expertise," according to the report.
According to Dr. Emmanuel Asante, Head of Urology at UGMC, the procedures went smoothly, demonstrating the Center's skills in difficult surgical interventions and post-operative care.
Dr. Kwame Anim Boamah, Chief Executive Officer of UGMC, said the successful completion of the first six kidney transplants demonstrates the Centre's commitment to pushing boundaries, achieving medical excellence, and improving patients' lives through cutting-edge interventions and compassionate care.
He noted that UGMC was excited to continue its mission of enhancing healthcare standards and creative techniques in transplantation.
