The U.S Embassy in Ghana has lauded the country for its amazing tolerance and understanding, calling it as a unique asset that distinguishes the country.

Speaking at a public forum hosted by the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Emily Fertik, Public Affairs Officer at the US Embassy, praised Ghana for its true and emotional tolerance, which she has personally witnessed during her tenure in the nation.

Fertik, who has lived in over 15 countries, believes Ghana is exceptional in its capacity to welcome diversity while promoting peaceful coexistence.

She urged Ghanaians to protect this unique treasure, especially as the country prepares for the December general elections, during which tolerance and understanding are frequently tested.

"Tolerance and understanding, I’ve been in Ghana a year and I have lived in 15 or so countries throughout my lifetime. Lived in, not visited, but genuinely lived in these countries and I can say unreservedly that Ghana is the country in which I have seen the most genuine, deep-hearted tolerance and understanding.”

“It’s something you read about before you come to a country, and then you experience it and live it and see it and it’s hard to explain, but you have it. You. Every election season is the time to find it even more because it’s the hardest time to find it," she stated.
