EC set to open Nominations for Presidential and Parliamentary candidates from Aug 2 -13 September

Ghana's Electoral Commission (EC) will accept nominations for Presidential and Parliamentary candidates from Friday, August 2 to Friday, September 13, 2024. 

Candidates interested in runing for president are required pay the Electoral Commission one hundred thousand Ghana cedis (GHC100,000) upon submitting their nomination forms.

Female candidates and those with impairments must pay seventy-five thousand Ghana cedis.

In a statement dated August 1, 2024, the EC indicated that interested candidates can obtain the Nomination Forms from the Commission's website (https://ec.gov.gh/forms/) beginning Friday, August 2, 2024.

"Candidates vying for the position of President will be required to make a payment of One Hundred Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH0 100,000.00) at the time of submitting their Nomination Forms. Payment shall be by Banker’s draft and addressed to the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission. Female Candidates and Persons with Disabilities are required to pay Seventy-Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH0 75,000).”

According to the EC, completed Presidential Nomination Forms should be signed by the candidate and at least two registered voters from each District Assembly.
